Performs a variety of routine maintenance duties for the Engineering Department such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provides friendly, fast, and helpful guest service to all guests and team members.Possesses knowledge of electricity and electrical components, possesses competency with a multi-meter and has the ability to trouble-shoot and repair a variety of electrical equipment. Assists leadership in planning and implementing electrical repairs and installs as necessary.Possesses general knowledge of plumbing and plumbing fixtures; trouble-shoots and repairs plumbing problems; assists leadership in planning and implementing plumbing repairs and new projects as necessary.Possesses general knowledge in HVAC service/maintenance. Oversees installations, repairs & services of HVAC system(s). Maintains environmental control systems through preventative and trouble-shooting efforts.Performs any job needed for the repair and maintenance of the property, as it relates to the daily function of keeping the property safe and operational.Must create and maintain a preventative maintenance program for the property, including guest rooms.Tests, diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty components in the heating and air units, faucets, flush shelves, shut off valves, defective pipes, fittings, drains, toilet bowls, water heaters, refrigerators, compressors, etc. located on property. Installs air & water filters, changing out all HEPA filters & other filters on all units.Develops accurate, complete, and timely electrical drawings; work with department head to clarify details and obtain approvals.Examines, troubleshoots, and resolves electrical issues on existing products using engineering principles and methodical problem solving techniques.Performs failure investigations, root cause analyses, and create reports to drive corrective and preventative actions.Follows standard engineering processes and timelines, including execution of Electrical Reviews (ERs), Pre-Project Reviews (PPRs) and post-project reviews where required.Responds to emergency service calls, as required; trouble shoots problems.Maintains and cleans the facilities shop and all service level office and equipment rooms.Operates a variety of lifts and other facilities equipment and vehicles. Performs all work in a consistently safe manner, including the use of personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, safety gloves, harness’ ear protection, and eye protection, safety vests, proper safe use of ladders and basic tools, and chemicals. Be cognizant of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, MSDS requirements, BBP expectations, PPE requirements and report all safety hazards. Performs other job related duties as assigned. QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to prepare, read and comprehend documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Prior experience in general maintenance, electrical and mechanical experience preferred. General knowledge of chemicals, maintenance tools, basic plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, lifts and assorted equipment preferred. Ability to operate equipment such as hand and power tools and emergency equipment. Good oral communication skills, ability to follow directions, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively over hand held radios. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical engineering w/ knowledge of automated control systems.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & REGISTRATIONS:
Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency. HVAC, plumbing and electrical trade certifications preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences, such as guests, coworkers, and members of leadership.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply regulatory and procedural doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is required to stand, walk and climb ladders. The team member is occasionally required to sit or kneel/crouch and reach with hands and arms. Position involves functioning both in an office environment and in the field. Field work involves manual labor, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment for the duties performed in this position will vary and may take place in the front of house (customer facing) or in the back of house (non-customer facing) areas of the property, as well as outside. The casino and parts of the hotel are a smoking environment. The front of house areas have moderate to loud noise and varying levels of lighting. The back of house areas have adequate lighting and varying levels of sound. The outside environment will be exposed to weather conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek is 40 hours and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
