The Engineer-in-Training will support water resource projects focused on hydrology and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, including tasks related to rainfall, storm surges, and floods for infrastructure and land development. Under the guidance of a Professional Engineer, the EIT will perform standard design engineering tasks, contribute to technical reports, and assist with project documentation.

Responsibilities Under the advisement of a Professional Engineer, the EIT will work on water resource initiatives for H&H modeling for rainfall, storm surges, and floods,for roads, bridges and land development projects.Performs a variety of clearly defined assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.Reads/interprets surveys and researches design optionsExcellent verbal/written communication. Responsible for writing and creating technical project reportsWorking knowledge of ESRI ArcGISWork on projects that include hydrology and hydraulic modelingSupports senior engineers and project managers to complete planning, research preliminary design, and may be required to perform detailed design modeling tasks.Assists with the preparation of documentation including plans, maps, reports, data spreadsheets, specifications, supporting documents. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS), SWMM (XP or EPA), and ESRI ArcGIS.Performs a variety of clearly defined assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.Using prescribed methods, applies techniques to specific civil engineering projectsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
