The Job Details: The Engineer 1 position ensures maximum operating efficiency, minimal down time and conformity with all company, state, and federal health and safety rules.  In addition, we need someone who works well with others and is self-motivated. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

•      Working knowledge of refrigeration techologies.

•      Perform duties to plan, schedule, operate, and maintain a refrigeration system.     

•      Good basic understanding of electrical and/or mechanical skills.

•      Possibly assist in emergency response situations. 

•      Keeps all necessary records for the refrigeration system to stay compliant.

•      Knowledge and practice with HVAC repair.

•      Responsible for any routine maintenance and general housekeeping of refrigeration systems and warehouse related maintenance.

•      Conducts daily routine inspections of all refrigeration equipment including Engine Room Log, and keeping of and maintaining records for compressors, evaporators and receivers.

•      Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facilities refrigeration system.

•      Establish and maintain a high level of professionalism that supports collaboration and problem solving while building strong working relationships with facility management, subordinates, and vendors.

•      Ensures that all OSHA and EPA operational requirements and regulations are met.

What We Are Looking For:

Education

•      High School Diploma or GED; Tech School Graduate in HVAC or Equivalent Field, preferred

•      Must pass Emergency Response Physical.

•      Lung Capacity and Auditory Testing are conducted annually

 

Experience

•      1 to 2 years working knowledge of the public refrigerated warehouse (PRW) industry or related field.

•      Working knowledge of the functions of various material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, lead acid batteries, battery chargers, etc.).

•      Knowledge of refrigeration control systems.

•      Knowledge of mechanics and mechanical skills

•      May need to complete Mechanical Aptitude Test with  acceptable score

•      Work in an atmosphere range of + 50 to - 30 degrees F
