This individual will architect cutting-edge strategies for the payment process using latest computing techniques driving proof of concepts with strong hands-on experience. About Enterprise Architecture:
Enterprise Architecture is an organization within the Chief Technology Office at American Express and it is a key enabler of the company’s technology strategy. The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:
1. Architecture as Code: this pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise.
2. Architecture as Design: this pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support.
3. Governance: this pillar is responsible for defining technical standards, and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance.
4. Colleague Enablement: this pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach.
Software Development
Mid-level ability in software development, such as coding assignments Function as member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation) Participate in code reviews and automated testing Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments Automate deployments in test or production environments Automatically scale applications based on demand projections Leadership Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk takingMinimum requirements:
Up to 7 years or more of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as: 4+ years of experience in Agile methodology. Experience with design and coding in Java and across one or more platforms and additional languages as appropriate Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, IBM MQ, Flink and Scala as a programming language preferred. UI experience using React, Node a plus Backend experience including Apache Cassandra, and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2 a plus Hands-on expertise with application design, software development and automated testing. Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases Experience with balance & control tools such as Infogix-ACR Plus. Exposure to platform migration projects. Experience with modern mainframe Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as TOPEZ ISPW, Jenkins, GITHUB and XLR. Must have experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and DASD file system. Must have experience with z/OS connect and certificate renewals. Expertise in creating additional USS mainframe environment. Expertise in logging and monitoring tools Splunk, Dynatrace. Knowledge of cloud platforms like Hydra, GCP and AWS is good to have. Expertise in creating Test jobs using JCL for Unit, System and User acceptance testing cyclesBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
