HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer in support of the Armament Directorate at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Experienced in the principles, criteria, and procedures of DoD and Air Force policies and common manufacturing standards for armament systems Translate operational requirements into design and fabrication objectives Integrate actual factory floor data to improve the design process Determine suitability (stability and capability) of existing and proposed manufacturing processes for application to complex emerging product designs Apply variation reduction and lean manufacturing principles to manufacturing and assembly operations, and evaluate adequacy of production processes and changes proposed as corrective actions in response to failures experienced in test or manufacturing Conduct Production Readiness Reviews and Manufacturing Readiness Assessments in accordance with the DoD Manufacturing Readiness Level Desk book Monitor manufacturing costs, perform manufacturing schedule assessments, define, and review manufacturing related metrics, and assure compliance with manufacturing and quality related Airworthiness criteria Develop manufacturing related inputs for Government use in Statements of Work (SOWs), Statements of Objectives (SOOs) and RFPs Using Supply Chain Management best practices, perform onsite supplier reviews, assessments, and audits, and perform Process Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (PFMECAs); counterfeit parts detection and avoidance techniques, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and obsolescence management

Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

BA/BS degree from an ABET accredited program, and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed with proper certifications as described in the Labor Category performance requirements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time position requiring up to 29 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.  

Other Position Requirements:

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.  Must be able to travel, including air travel.
