This position is for a Nuclear Engineer 4 within the Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineering team. Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineering is responsible for the Nuclear Quality Management System at NNS. As part of this responsibility, the team owns processes and procedures that govern critical aspects of Quality for the deckplate, inspection, and engineering. The team works collaboratively to continuously drive improvements to eliminate waste and streamline processes. Additionally, NQA Engineering is responsible for coordinating the NAVSEA 08 Evaluations bi-annually.
Responsibilities:
-Lead critical improvement intiatives that streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance effiecieny for various Navy Nuclear Programs.
-Spearhead or actively support the adoption of cutting-edge digital tools and technologies, propelling NNS into the future of Quality Assurance.
-Develop and refine procedures that guarantee every component, system, and test meets stringest regulations and exceeds expectations.
-Work hand-in-hand with inernal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and adherence to Quality standards.
-Lend expertise to ensure smooth and successful evaluation process, upholding NNS's impeccable Quality reputation.

Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
