Engineer Project Execution
**JOB SUMMARY** Georgia Power is seeking an adaptable, creative, proactive, and analytical engineer to join our Grid Investment Program. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in power distribution and will feel comfortable presenting and giving direction to stakeholders. The engineer will play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of numerous projects within the program. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Georgia Power’s Distribution Grid Investment Plan is a 15-year plan focused on improving overall system reliability, reducing O&M expenses, and increasing customer satisfaction. This position will provide operational and close out oversight for hundreds of projects being completed over this timeframe (over $1B in investments), to accomplish our goal. Additionally, this role will serve as a leader during storm restoration efforts. **JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** 1. Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets. 2. Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items. 3. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders. 4. Present project status and updates to stakeholders, providing clear direction and addressing any concerns. 5. Assist in the preparation of project status reports, presentations, and other documentation. 6. Oversee distribution operations and mapping efforts, ensuring that Georgia Power’s distribution system is operated safely, and effectively. 7. Oversee the close out process for all projects, ensuring that jobs are closed accurately and timely. 8. Track and manage project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring timely resolution and communication. 9. Support the procurement of project materials and services, including preparing purchase requisitions and tracking deliveries. 10. Maintain project documentation and ensure it is organized and accessible to project team members. 11. Assist in the coordination of project resources, including internal staff and external contractors. 12. Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful execution of the Grid Investment Plan. **JOB REQUIREMENTS** _Education & Experience:_ + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, + Relevant industry certification is a plus (i.e. Pe license, PMP certification, etc.) + 3+ years of experience in project coordination or a similar role, preferably within the energy or utilities industry, with a focus on distribution. _Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:_ + Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and present to stakeholders. + Experience with relevant systems is preferred (i.e. TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, and DISTIEW). + Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is preferred. + Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). + Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies is a plus. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. + Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities. + Proactive approach to identifying and addressing project challenges. + Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative solutions. This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position: • Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated.
