Engineer Radar/Scientist II Sr

Responsibilities What You'll Do: In support of NSCWDD’s B (Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems) Department, Codes B40 and B60, provide sensor systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) radar systems. Systems supported across B40 and B60 include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS0, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and other sensor systems. Key Responsibilities: Support the development and execution of systems engineering plans from requirements identification through design verification. Plan and execute engineering strategies in accordance with approved project acquisition strategies and plans: Perform requested aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate aspects of architecture design, interoperability, specification analysis and development, solutions implementation and systems sustainment of supported projects. Develop test and evaluation documentation, including laboratory testing plans, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents and laboratory testing of SW/MW test articles developed by the product design agent. Research and develop systems/subsystem specification documents, including compliance, completeness and consistency of component and interface requirements with current and evolving system requirements, information architectures, and systems. Support signal processing activities, to include waveform, clutter management and electronic protection development; designing electronic compatibility into systems; and supporting data collection and analysis to determine effectiveness of signal processing systems. Duties may be conducted in government or contractor office or laboratory environments, as well as field work in direct support of USN/USMC organizations. This may include working onboard U.S. and/or foreign naval ships or vessels. on piers, in dry docks, or other field/non-office environments, as required. Qualifications Minimum Qualification: Education/Professional Certifications: Must meet one or more of the following: (a) A bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electronics Engineering (b) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics (c) A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics (d) A Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer General Sensor Engineering Experience: General Experience is defined as experience since award of degree: (a) Minimum fifteen (15) years with a bachelor’s degree (b) Minimum twelve (12) years with a master’s degree (c) Minimum eight (8) years with a Ph.D degree Specialized Experience: (a) Minimum of five (5) years of experience in complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, and specification development. Other Requirement: US Citizenship Requires Secret Clearance Technology: Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.
