Engineer Technician
Job Title: Technician

Job Description

Provide technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team to facilitate the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyze NDE data, and track inspector assignments and progress. Coordinate inspection assignments, request quotes from vendors, monitor progress, and verify requirements are met upon delivery.

ResponsibilitiesPerform technical and inventory activities under the direction of NDE Engineers to support commercial and military engines.Prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.Support the development and implementation of non-destructive evaluation methods such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope Techniques.Coordinate and track the progress of inspection assignments and inspector results.Request and manage quotes from vendors, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedule requirements.Essential SkillsBS in Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.Lab experience from school or internships.Experience with scientific theories from school or internships.Proficiency in Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with training and auditing NDT systems.Establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.Ability to work independently.Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.Knowledge and experience with root cause analysis and process control tools.Experience with SAP and the Microsoft suite.Database management, troubleshooting, and mechanical inspection of parts.NDT Level II certification, experience with fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), Eddy Current testing, and Ultrasonic testing.Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.Experience in NDE, measurement/instrumentation, design, and report writing preferred.Work Environment

This role is based full-time onsite at the East Hartford campus, within the newest Engineering building lab and office. The group is dynamic with constantly changing priorities. The position includes 5 days of PTO per year, 6 paid holidays, and overtime pay at 1.5X for hours worked over 40 per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
