Summary
Responsible for technical functions in support of materials and process engineering activities such as material testing and shelf-life control. Applications may include bonding, potting, encapsulation, and molding. Secondary responsibility to assist with electrical testing. Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Assists engineers with experiments for process development or process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Performs material testing to obtain various material properties such as tensile strength, percent elongation, hardness, percent compression set, tear strength, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, specific gravity, peel strength, and lap shear strength.
Operates automated/manual test equipment including tensile test machines, high voltage/high altitude test chambers and temperature/environmental chambers.
Performs bonding, potting, encapsulation or molding for testing purposes.
Creates tests reports.
Works from industry, customer or internal specifications to perform testing and troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve laboratory equipment malfunctions, working with external and/or internal sources as necessary to procure replacement parts.
Record, document, and manage testing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Manages material shelf-life control.
Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage, and workstations.
Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the lab.
Meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum AS or AAS degree in Materials Science Technology, Materials Testing, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar field
0-2 years experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Read and understand schematic diagrams, mechanical drawings, interconnect drawings
Basic algebra skills
Read and understand specifications and equipment manuals
Skilled in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Comfortable working with chemicals, hand tools, and various testing equipment.
Experience programming with Labview, python, or similar test and automation software is a plus

Salary Range:
$38,200.00-$50,900.000Pay Transparency
