Job Description

Utility Services company is in search of an Engineering Technician (Project Admin) to support engineers responsible for the planning, engineering, and design of electric and gas distribution systems. This role involves interacting with other electric utility disciplines and coordinating with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and third-party owners of joint-owned poles.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister and generate Joint Use fines.Generate and manage transfer notifications.Create and assign SCL WAMS asset numbers for new assets and projects.Intake, process, and manage engineering as-builts.Process and manage ROW permitting applications for several jurisdictions.Intake, approve, and process customer applications.Investigate and manage pole replacement work orders and transfer statuses related to the Double Pole project.Manage Master Pole Attachment Agreements and maintain Certificates of Insurance for over 150 Wireline customers.Compile and generate billing reports for accounting purposes.Collaborate with Cost Accounting and P&CM to accurately assign invoices to billable work orders.Issue permits for Joint Use and Wood Pole Design Team, ensuring compliance with regulations.Conduct research and resolve customer complaints effectively.Create comprehensive internal and external reports and metrics.Generate reports to identify work orders ready for closure in WAMS.Monitor and address Customer Called completes, managing a backlog of inspections and overdue customer final close-outs.Plot, research, and field quarter section maps, requiring the ability to work in all weather conditions.Take images of poles.Essential SkillsAdministration and engineering support.Construction and data entry experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Experience with permit applications.Utilities or Telecom experience.Permitting or Project Administration expertise.Experience with SAP and construction documents.Right of way knowledge.AutoCAD proficiency.Experience with as-built documentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsPermitting experience.Previous utility/telecom experience.Fielding experience.Client-facing experience.Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD.Work Environment

This is a hybrid position with 2 days a week in the office at Seattle City Light South Service Center or a new office in the northern area (Northgate), 2 days working in the field, and 1 day working from home. The role requires the ability to work in all weather conditions when conducting field responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00
