We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for an experienced Project Engineer within our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) engineering team, providing systems engineering and technical management of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become a prime point of contact between the company and the customer for all technical matters.Develop an in-depth technical understanding of the entire aircraft and ground control system, which includes flight software, fuel, electrical and avionics systems, as well as datalink systems for command and control.Develop detailed system requirements that will be the foundation for new or improved UAS capabilities.Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules.Lead all necessary engineering design reviews, e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR.Provide chief technical direction to all other engineering groups within GA-ASI, ensuring company alignment of system requirements, design, and deliverables to meet customer requirements.Requires a very hands-on approach to engineering system design, test, verification & validation utilizing an UAS-representative integration lab.Lead troubleshooting efforts with on-site personnel to resolve technical issues in the field. Will require travel to field sites to provide on-site engineering expertise as required.
