Position will be located in Poway, CA.  The candidate will be required to lead all systems engineering related efforts for the program, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Engineering while being “dotted lined” to the Chief Engineer for the customer’s MQ-9B Program. The candidate will perform technical tasks as well as direct work of junior employees and cross functional support for the effort.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform System Engineering activities primarily focused on Unmanned Aircraft (UA) related programs. Lead system engineering activities for one or more project efforts to include system requirements, design, development, test, and verification activities.Develop Requirement Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and Design Descriptions.Provide direction to technical staff and be capable to lead a team of low to moderate experienced professional staff.Work across multiple engineering disciplines to develop, validate, implement and integrate capabilities into the MQ-9 platform based on customer requirements.Support research and development for proposals, white papers, and action responses.Elicit stakeholder needs, analysis and define requirements; to include allocations, allocation, decomposition, and bi-directional traceability.Determine system impacts based on functional analysis to a proposed change.Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.Resolve highly complex engineering problems through development and application of innovative processes and designs.Effectively interface with personnel, both internal and external to the organization, using strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Context for interaction may include technical reviews, meetings, system level integration events, or representing the organization as a prime technical contact.Employ standard System Engineering practices and methodology utilizing available tools and resources. Includes tools for requirements management (i.e., DOORS), data management (i.e., SharePoint), documentation (i.e., Microsoft Office) and other similar tool alternatives.Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to solve engineering challenges.Develop and maintain engineering schedules/budgets for programs tasks or subtasks.Performs other duties as assigned.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
