The Advanced Programs group has an exciting opportunity in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA) for a Senior Project Engineer to oversee the definition and maturation of enterprise and program-level Low Observable diagnostic processes, procedures, and training.  As a Survivability Project Engineer, you will oversee multiple projects, including IRAD and Contract-funded efforts, that require collaboration across multiple engineering functions within the organization. You will develop, lead, and mentor this multidisciplinary team of engineers towards common strategic and technical goals. You will manage budget, schedule, risks, and quality of the system to ensure that it meets the technical, operational, and program needs. Additionally, you will evaluate and resolve complex system issues, problems, and conflicts while communicating the status, progress, and results to senior management.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop roadmap and execution plans for the definition, development, and implementation of multi-tier diagnostic plans that will be employed on emerging advanced development activitiesDevelop tools to aid analysis and predictions of platform performance, such as first-order modeling, material property prediction or estimation, geometry fixing, and design optimization.Support the Development of production quality and verification plansParticipate in the design and fabrication of measurement and test articles (“fixtures”, “pole models”) for validation of survivable designs.Support testing efforts at outside facilities and mature in house RCS testing capabilities. The successful candidates will prepare test plans, interface with vendor personnel, and may require being onsite during testing to ensure test integrityRecommend novel facilities/methods/processes for Tier 1-3 diagnostic testing to support the development of low observable air systemsSupport survivability-related ground-testing covering the full life-cycle of  test: planning, execution, analysis, and reportingProvide technical leadership to IRAD and CRAD projects targeting development and implementation of Survivability technologies.Develop tools to evaluate measured test data of platform performanceDevelop technical briefings for internal and external stakeholder reviewRegular communication with Advanced Programs and ASI executive leadershipProvide regular technical mentorship to lower-level technical team membersCollaborate with the manufacturing team to define new process and mature existing processes for the development and fabrication of LO observable fixtures, assemblies, and systems  Ensure compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained. Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures
