Job Description

The Engineering Assistant Manager will serve as the right-hand person for the Engineering Manager, providing comprehensive support in managing emergency break-down events on production equipment, project planning, and technical support for the Maintenance and Manufacturing teams. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective planning and implementation of processes and equipment for both existing and future production lines.

ResponsibilitiesManage emergency break-down events on production equipment from an engineering standpointOversee project planning and technical support provided to the Maintenance and Manufacturing teamsManage process and equipment planning for existing and future production linesEnsure effective countermeasures are developed by the Production Engineering team to prevent reoccurrence of equipment-related downtimeResponsible for factory layout managementOversee budget planning and management for the Production Engineering teamSupport the improvement of safety, quality, productivity, and indirect material costEstablish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with team membersEssential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field5-7 years of experience in manufacturing3+ years of experience in the automotive industry3+ years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or assistant managerProficiency in engineering managementExperience with SolidworksKnowledge of mechanical drawingsUnderstanding of PDCA methodologyAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of the automotive manufacturing industryFamiliarity with total quality management systems and engineering best practicesExperience in multi-discipline leadership, with the ability to effectively communicate with operations, manufacturing, quality, and other groupsStrong negotiation skillsPersonality traits such as ownership, willingness to question for knowledge, adaptability, and ambitionPassion for growing engineersAbility to gather information through investigation and questioningWork Environment

This role is based in a large, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with a new gym, locker rooms, and showers. The facility includes a full cafeteria with a chef that changes meals daily and robotics on the floor. The workspace is air-conditioned, and employees are provided with uniforms after 30 days. Long sleeve shirts and pants are required; no jeans are permitted. Employees enjoy benefits such as 80 hours of PTO loaded after 90 days, two paid shut down weeks per year, a 401K with a 5% match after six months, and various recognition programs. Additionally, the company sponsors family-friendly events, including trips to Sea World

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
