Transmission Line Engineering is seeking a motivated, passionate and enthusiastic engineer to perform transmission line operational and maintenance event reviews. In this role you will coordinate efforts that support the performance of forensics and root cause analysis and providing solutions. You will have the opportunity to work with staff from across LCRA, including management, and lead efforts that make a difference. You will also work to evaluate, validate and provide an engineered resolution to encroachments on our transmission lines. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles. This role is an integral part of the safe and reliable operation of our transmission system.
You will be trusted to:
- Investigate, provide technical assessments, analyze events and develop innovative engineered solutions.
- Draft reports and perform presentations where appropriate.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely communication and resolution.
- Exhibit initiative in identifying areas of synergy and improvement.
- Achieve knowledge of engineering principles, LCRA procedures, equipment, and systems.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
You qualify with:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus one or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Transmission (or telecommunications) lattice tower and foundation design experience.
- Knowledge of overhead transmission line design, and experience in design of concrete repairs.
- Experience using PLS-CADD and or PLS-Tower.
- Familiarity with interpreting and applying requisite industry design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI.
