Project Title: Fuel Cell System Test Capability Improvement
Position Summary
Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Engineering Co-op. The Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Transportation Engineering in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects in support of the co-op’s academic studies. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.
Project Summary
Student to work within the transportation engineering group in Rochester in support of the one or more of the following projects:
Commissioning of new system test stands for Rochester laboratory.Executing development and validation tests on fuel cell systems for various GenDrive & ProGen systems.Collecting, processing and analyzing test data to refine system calibrations.Fuel cell system build and debug activities.Core Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power productsWork with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze dataAssist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and managementMechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessaryAbility to independently set up experiments and monitor progressUnderstand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projectsAbility to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliabilityRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Qualification
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related programPrior Internship or Co-op experience preferredMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingPreferred experience with:Control Desk (dSpace) toolsPLC programmingCANProcessing and analyzing dataP&ID interpretationDebug of electrical & mechanical systems (i.e., valves, sensors, etc.)Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:
