DuraServ’s continued double-digit growth necessitates a strong professional Engineering Drafter I, supporting our Proprietary Brands. This role, reporting to the Engineering Manager and in an entry-level engineering role responsible for supporting the engineering function, generating/drafting architectural and product prints, BOM review and development, and day-to-day engineering support. 


Essential Functions 

Create manufacturing drawings of assemblies and models including GD&T and B.O.M. information.Interpreting 2D drawings and layouts for migration into a 3D environmentCommunicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests, and milestone completions.Track project progress using sources available to ensure project initiatives are met.Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget.Plans mechanical drawings by reviewing sketches, descriptions, specifications, and supporting documents, and conferring with the sales team and customers.LEAN thinker that’s customer-centric with a process-driven mindset that involves all stakeholders to deliver process improvements that safely move the needle.Align to and support capital equipment programs for production and information systems. Ensure implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesReview and generate BOM’s for existing and new products within product portfolio.Other duties assigned

Ability to check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit and function, correctness, and completeness of information.Must have strong mechanical aptitude, good reasoning, and problem-solving skills.Application of lean/continuous improvement tools & techniques in low volume high-value production/manufacturing environmentTop-tier analytical skills and ability to translate data and trends into solutions.Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to coordinate and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.Work effectively within and across teams to build partnerships, cohesiveness, and trust.Problem-solving, results-oriented accountability with a strong execution backgroundProject management with a track record of process improvementAbility to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

In office environmentProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

Travel

This job requires 5% planned business travel.

Education and Experience 

Associate’s degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred, Bachelor’s degree in engineering desiredMinimum three (3) years experience in mechanical engineering utilizing one or more 3D CAD packages such as Onshape, Autocad, Autodesk, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, CATIA, Solid Edge, DraftSight, etc.At least 3 years experience in the manufacturing industry supporting engineering operations in a LEAN environment.ASQ certifications CQE, or CRE desired.GD&T experience is desired.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, advanced Excel skills desired
