Job Title: Engineering Extrusion Technician
Job Description

This individual provides technical support for medical tubing extrusion by extruding, combining resins and colorants, or working to engineering requests. They will be responsible for carrying out the production of medical grade extruded tubing in a safe and proper manner, helping to improve quality, reduce scrap, and meet all task and cycle time requirements. This role involves operating equipment, cleaning and maintaining equipment and work documents, and potentially working on new products, processes, and test methods. The individual may also create or update instructions, support and provide training efforts, and must be knowledgeable of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards or other quality-related projects pertaining to tubing extrusion or the use of extruded tubing in products.

ResponsibilitiesApply knowledge of technical concepts and practices, and understand product or system fundamentals, from basic to complex towards the resolution of manufacturing and/or research and development tasks.Perform set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or products.Troubleshoot and solve problems requiring interpretation of procedures and practices, analyze situations or data to identify issues and trends.Collect, compile, measure, organize, and record data. Provide input to engineering, qualifications, and validation studies, and develop or revise documents and procedures.Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work routine to meet established schedules and assigned tasks or projects.Communicate effectively as a team member with other functional groups as well as with internal customers, and may contact outside vendors as part of job responsibilities.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years hands-on experience required in medical extrusion.Minimum educational equivalent to a high school diploma.Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards or other quality documents.Experience in engineering in the medical device field (minimum 3 years).Proficiency in troubleshooting and solving technical problems.Ability to collect, compile, measure, organize, and record data accurately.Additional Skills & QualificationsMedical device experience is highly preferred.Hands-on experience with the extrusion process.Bilingual capabilities are highly preferred, especially in Spanish, as a significant percentage of staff speak Spanish.Ability to follow policies and regulations meticulously.Work Environment

This company is in a ramp-up period and is very busy. The manufacturing area is a Class 7 clean room that is new to the organization and site. The environment is supportive with state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative culture where individuals are not siloed into one task. There is a good mix of seasoned and new employees, and this is an excellent place for people looking to build careers. Mentoring will be provided, but it remains a start-up environment with several products coming in over the next six months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
