Job Title: Engineering Field Technician
Job Description

Geotechnical engineers will take samples from the field crews and evaluate soil, rock, and underground water to determine the feasibility and design specifications for construction projects. This role involves sitting onsite at Offutt Air Force Base to perform geotechnical analysis and study to assess construction site conditions. The engineer will act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and engineers, planning and conducting geotechnical explorations effectively.

ResponsibilitiesPerform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.Inspect and check quality, participating in soil sampling 20% of the time.Analyze geotechnical findings, perform calculations, and prepare data reports for the Project Manager.Provide direction to the technical team in field inspection activities.Interact with customers and team members to complete projects on time.Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.Essential SkillsMinimum of an Associate's degree in construction management or civil engineering.1-5 years of commercial construction experience.Pass MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check.Experience in construction inspection, observation, and instrumentation.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred experience as an inspector, observer, surveyor, or in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).Experience in client service management.Leadership experience, including defining and setting the direction for a team, project, and office.Experience in strategy development, change management, and corporate stewardship.Sound decision-making skills, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving complex problems.Understanding of geotechnical practices including exploration, analysis, and design, and all phases of project document production.Organizational skills and the ability to manage a team and move into a project engineering role.Work Environment

The role involves 20% in-office planning and documentation and 70% onsite at Offutt Air Force Base, which is a loud and dirty commercial construction site. You will be reporting to the Project Manager in Geotechnical Engineering and act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and engineers. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00
