About the role

At Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara, the Engineering Generalist plays a crucial role in maintaining the guest rooms and Residence Club facilities. The Engineering Generalist handles a wide range of tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety repairs. Additionally, they are responsible for interior decorating, paint touch-ups, and drywall repairs throughout the property. The Engineering Generalist also assists with general pool maintenance, landscaping, and ensuring water quality standards are met. A versatile position ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the property for the comfort and safety of all owners and guests.

What you will do:

Perform repairs on light fixtures, plug outlets, doors, and furniture. 

Perform minor electrical trouble shooting. 

Assist Owners, guests and other departments with TV setup, cable boxes and general assembly tasks. 

Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, restaurant equipment, and boilers. 

Maintain a neat and organized workspace including golf cart, tools, and engineering shop. 

Prioritize and respond to HotSOS work orders. 

Assist with departmental and property projects. 

Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons. 

Conduct daily inspections, log findings, and report emergencies promptly via HotSOS. 

Respond to all emergencies such as smoke alarms and power outages. 

Respond promptly to any Residence Club emergency. 

Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management. 

Collaborate with team members, demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job and be open to cross training opportunities. 

What you bring:

Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language 

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

1-2 years of experience in hotel or building maintenance 

Valid California Driver’s License 

Excellent customer service skills 

One year experience in Landscaping or interior plant maintenance 

Knowledge of plants and best watering practices for interior and exterior plants 

1-2 years' experience painting and drywall repair. 

The ability to work with latex, oil-based paints and stains. 

Some drain cleaning, experience with plumbing systems and trouble-shooting residential appliances experience preferred. 

Ability to lift 50-100lbs, push/pull 50lb, and lift 25lbs overhead. 

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and tasks that require squatting, bending, and stretching. 

Skilled in Painting, drywall repair and the use of power tools, including in difficult or confined positions.
