Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern Position Summary                              Under general supervision of the Automation Manufacturing team, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Manufacturing Automation Engineering located at the Shakopee, MN Cherne Industries location.  Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with “hands-on” work experience. 

Expectations & Accountabilities…Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.Support Automation Engineers in wiring, machining, and assembling custom automationManufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.Startup support for debug and productionDesign and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements

What you’ll need to be successful…Education and Certification: Enrolled in an Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician programMicrosoft Office Suite - proficient user, emphasis on ExcelSolidworks experience (or any CAD)Interest in manufacturing process design, material flow, production equipment, work methods, and processesAbility to work within a cross-functional, multi-cultural team Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize work efficiently Process-oriented thinker

Qualifications that will set you apart…Electronical wiring experience a plusPLC programming experience a plusMechanical aptitude/some hands-on experience is a plus
