Engineering Intern

Key Responsibilities:

Support the engineering product development process of new and/or existing items. Responsibilities will include creation of engineering documentation and supporting activities (3D Models, Drawings, Specifications, QFD, DFMEA, Bill of Materials, and/or Instruction Sheets).Support Engineering team members with engineering and process documentation (SOP’s, Tech Data Sheets, Intranet Communication Boards, ECNs, etc.).Execute product testing and analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet internal functional and performance specifications along with industry standards and requirements.Perform product inspections and competitive product assessments.Coordinate prototype builds through internal and external resources.Support Value Added / Value Engineering efforts.Maintain correspondence to internal and external customers.Everyday Activities:Support all areas of Liberty Hardware from Marketing to Sourcing and Quality to help further Liberty’s global operations goals.Provide support and communication with global engineers, US engineers, and quality assurance to ensure products are fabricated and assembled based on product requirements.Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.Provide technical support on product inquiries.Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement Mindset – Identify areas of improvement and implement new strategies, processes, or ideas. Participate in Continuous Improvement events and activities (as required).

Education & Required Skills:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year university.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn enterprise specific software.Baseline proficiency of 3-D CAD parametric modeling software. Creo software experience is a plus.Language Requirements: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and write functional and technical information. This includes business periodicals, technical procedures, and standards.Mathematical Requirements: Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts for product design functions.Physical Demands: Includes office and manufacturing work settings with occasional lifting and installation of products (as required).
