Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.The work model for the role is: onsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Business.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupporting ABB R&D projects and investigations related to electrical, mechanical, and/or thermal topics•\tFinding and evaluating state-of-the art technology from public sources •\tContributing and critiquing new ideas, features, solutions, and evaluation strategies•\tHelping design, draw, and model new components and test set-ups •\tHelping design, run, and document calculations, simulations, laboratory tests, and experiments•\tLiving ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.

Qualifications for the role

\tCurrently enrolled in a Master's or PhD degree program in the US in Electrical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering, Physics, or similar (recent graduates will also be considered)\tSpecialized coursework and research/project work in at least one of the following: electrical machines design and testing, mechanical/thermal modelling, mechatronics experimental prototyping, machine learning/ generative AI.\tIntern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite. \tMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. \tUtilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions\tEffectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines\tDemonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality\tCollaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
