Engineering Intern (Substations)Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented electrical engineering student for internship in Airdrie, AB. Under the guidance of experienced staff, the successful candidate will support the design of electrical substations including but not limited to, Protection and Controls: one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and wiring and Physical design: layouts, equipment, section views, structures & foundations, grounding, cable raceways.

Required Education/ExperiencePursuit of a university degree in electrical engineering or other related discipline.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry.Candidate is legally authorized to work permanently in Canada without the need for work sponsorship.Desired Education/ExperienceMinimum of a 2.75 GPA.For electrical engineers, successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection is a plus.Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks.Ideal coursework includes AutoCAD, circuit analysis, high voltage theory, electrical theory.Previous engineering design or drafting work experience is desirable.
