Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

INTERNSHIP FORMAT

 

In-Person: The format for this internship will be in-person, where the intern will be required to work on-site at either the Stellantis Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan and/or at the Chelsea Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan. Some interns may be eligible for housing assistance per company policy.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

When: The internship program will run from May 19 - August 8, 2025.  Where: All internships are in the United States.  Even remote work assignments must be completed within the United States.   Transportation: Interns are responsible for getting to and from work daily. Stellantis does not provide transportation to interns.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

 

Engineering Summer interns are assigned to a department within Engineering based on the candidate's technical background. The assignment is project-oriented, meaningful to the department, allows the intern to take responsibility for a major task, and allows the intern to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution. Interns will get to experience corporate business culture and gain the communication and etiquette skills required. They'll gain consideration for direct placement into our Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Trainee Program. They'll also get to share knowledge gained from recent courses and further develop computer skills and learn new systems and software.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.  Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Major in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program; other Engineering degrees from an ABET accredited university programs (Aerospace/Aeronautical, Agricultural, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Computer Science, Materials, Mechatronics, Metallurgical, Software) or related field will be considered if the candidate exhibits the desired characteristics to fill an opening within the intern program. Completion of freshman year or higher at an accredited university by the spring of 2025  GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale)  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Proficient with MS Office Suite applications  Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.  Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels and with external partners.  Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment.  Proven leadership in academic pursuits, extracurricular activities, or service organizations.
