Strava is hiring an Engineering Manager to build and lead our Mapping team within our Map Platform organization. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that is laying the foundation of rich and immersive map experiences that help our users plan, navigate and relive their activities. As an Engineering Manager for the Mapping team, you will be responsible for the execution of the Map Platform strategy and the management of the team.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our Berlin office—roughly three days per week.

You’ll balance product priorities with technical best practices, ensuring our solutions are both user-friendly and technically robust. Communicate and Execute: Guide your team through agile development cycles, ensuring clear documentation and transparency using tools like Confluence and JIRA. Your strategic oversight will help steer projects from concept to delivery. We’re excited about you because you: Are an experienced engineering leader with a background in customer-facing, large-scale applications—ideally in the mapping or geospatial domain. Understand the technical challenges of managing geospatial data and have a proven record of delivering cloud-based solutions. Leverage robust data literacy to analyze complex datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies, ensuring our mapping solutions continually evolve to meet user needs. Beyond your technical expertise, you excel at coaching and developing talent, making tough decisions, and balancing competing priorities. Compensation OverviewAt Strava, we know our employees are the most important ingredient to our success, and our compensation and total rewards programs reflect that. We take a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on the department and your location. Salary ranges are categorized into one of three tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. We will determine the candidate’s starting pay based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. We may modify these ranges in the future.
