ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton E-commerce Engineering is hiring creative software engineering managers who have a passion for phenomenal products and technology and want to use that passion to develop innovative, industry-leading e-commerce experiences in an incredibly fun, fast-paced, and highly collaborative team environment. You will be an active part of a multidisciplinary team and will craft and develop member-facing UIs, design systems, and web platform tooling.

You have a passion for quality code and experience with running an engineering team; cross-team communication, strategic thinking, leadership ability, and an egoless approach to collaboration are highly valued.  The successful person in this role has a strong web development background who will provide technical leadership as well as architectural direction as part of a team that supports the e-commerce website.  You should be passionate about technology and always have the customer’s best interest in mind.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

Staff and manage a team of engineers responsible for developing and improving the customer engagement experience for the e-commerce (and more) website(s) Motivate and drive a continuous performance-based culture within the team Provide management support for the team in the form of team meetings to support the group and individual development objectives of team members Collaborate with multi-functional team members from Design, Product, Program Management and UX in order to deliver against quarterly and annual roadmap objectives Establish team level performance indicators to measure efficiency of the team’s output and impact to customer engagement Instill a culture of automation, re-use and engineering efficiency through the use of software design patterns and leveraging commercial, off the shelf tools Identify multi-functional dependencies and remove blockers when needed across engineering, design, and product management Enable and sustain the culture of open communication and collaboration across the engagement organization Achieve timely delivery without compromising quality

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

5+ years of software development experience in web development, web architecture, and / or full stack development Demonstrable experience in having deployed applications commercially into production 3+ years of leadership experience in technology management Experience delivering full stack web product collaborating with Design, UX, Project Management, and Product Management Familiarity with CI/CD and how to incorporate test automation into development flows Experience working with Agile methodology and delivery of quality software as part of an Agile team Ability to identify strength and weakness of individuals in order to maximize team effectiveness and provide guidance to individuals when needed for coaching or mentoring Ability to mediate between competing product and technical priorities and align priorities and goals through collaboration with technical leads and product managers Effectively communicate between teams and within teams in order to drive alignment and increase effectiveness on delivery

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Our base salary is just one component of Peloton’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan as well as other region-specific health and welfare benefits.
