Engineering Manager
Position Overview International Corporation, a leading North American truck manufacturer with great products, a strong market position and best-in-class distribution network, has an exciting new opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our team at our Assembly Facility in Springfield, OH. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, to correct engineering issues in assembly. They will work with a cross functional team to identify solutions, monitor progress through engineering development process, and work to validate and ensure changes are implemented. Responsibilities Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter Expert Work is primarily accomplished through setting direction, deploying resources and managing others. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Good knowledge of validation, verification and testing process. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience, including at least 1 year of lead experience OR Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 4 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience, including at least 1 year of lead experience OR PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 2 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience, including at least 1 year of lead experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Managing in a union environment Basic MS Office Computer Skills Basic CAD skill Mechanical Aptitude Strong knowledge of validation, verification and testing process. Strong communication skills. Must be able to converse easily with assembly operators, supervisors and senior leadership. Must be at ease with making quick accurate decisions on the assembly line and following through to documentation and correction to these issues. It is preferred that the candidate have hands-on, troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment (automotive or mechanical assemblies is a plus), with the ability to train others.
