Who We WantThe Engineering Manager is responsible for leading team(s) of engineers to execute complex software initiatives for small and large scale projects, ensuring our systems meet the dynamic demands of Arrive’s internal and external customers. This position requires a leader to navigate and champion change, to lead by example, and to collaborate with other departments to ensure the success of the Development team’s roadmap. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the engagement and professional development of the engineers they manage and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration. What You’ll DoLead and manage Engineering teams, ensuring members of the team's performance align with the overall department goals by holding direct reports accountable to performance expectations.Coach, mentor, and advocate for your engineers, growing a stronger team through stronger individuals. Responsible for the delivery of high-quality, scalable software to production on a regular basis, owning the quality, documentation, tests, and communication across teams. Manage the team’s day-to-day with a high awareness of what your team/teams are doing to remove blockers and ensure efforts are in sync with the priorities. Keep your team informed of the priorities and vision that is driving the organization, making sure they understand the what and the why, to advance the organization’s goals.Advance the organization's goals within your team and ensure success in hitting them. Exhibit ownership end to end, and claim your team’s wins and failures with a mindset of continuous improvement.Work with your Director of Engineering, peers, and our Product partners to scope, plan, and execute with impeccable communication around estimates and risk.Recognize the gaps and needs of your teams and take action to solve them.Analyze, design, implement and optimize processes that your teams will leverage to be effective.Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and SMEs to support growth initiatives and drive alignment on shared vision and objectives.Contribute your leadership and expertise to the broader organization, influencing more than just your team. Qualifications5+ years of engineering experience. 1+ year of people management or team leadership experience, including performance and career development. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training.
