JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the Product Security/Functional Safety team, including leading a team to assess the security and safety of new company products. Supports the development of associates as well as taking part in Human Resources activities involving associate counseling, evaluating work performance and assisting in skill development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a team of product cybersecurity and privacy assessors to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory security requirements. Lead a team of product functional safety assessors to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory safety requirements. Manages the operational and personnel activities of the assigned area within the department. Analyzes workflow and provides input for process changes. Maintains relationships and directly interacts with product engineering teams. Develops procedures, policies and guidelines for the development of safe & secure products. Ensures that all engineering projects, initiatives and processes conform to the organization's established policies and procedures. Ensures the company policies align with global policies. Collaborates with senior management to develop goals, objectives and measures for assigned area in light of overall department, division and organization strategy. Responsible, along with senior management, for the development of short-and-long range plans for assigned area. Plans, assigns, schedules, directs, reviews and approves completed work by the engineering staff. Assists in the development of and monitors the budget for assigned area. Provides input into staffing proposals. Performs Human Resources activities including tracking of time and attendance, associate counseling, scheduling, evaluating work performance and assists in skill development. Fosters high morale and teamwork by supporting the activities of subordinates through daily interaction and one on one contact. Coaches, teaches and develops engineering staff to increase core competencies within the engineering department. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required.Work Experience:
Requires 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry. Requires experience with ISO 21434 and ISO 26262SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of engineering theories, processes and terms Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a skillful presenter that can interpret information based on a general knowledge of the organization, its products and procedures, and provide an independent explanation and discussion based on the technical or complex nature of the materials being discussed Excellent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship partnership Excellent negotiation skills. Ability to resolve difficult or complicated situations that are often sensitive in nature.
