Job Description
The Molding Engineering Manager will lead and develop the Engineering team, ensuring the consistent growth of Molding Engineers into effective team members. This role involves providing guidance, assistance, and overall leadership to successfully develop, plan, and execute capital projects, ensuring the Molding Operations deliver production results at the highest possible level. The Molding Engineering Manager will also take the lead engineering role in large or complex capital projects to ensure their smooth and successful implementation.
ResponsibilitiesInstill a positive safety culture by ensuring personal safety and the safety of other team members, including vendors and contractors.Lead and develop the Engineering Team in all areas, including providing guidance, direction, and development to Engineers.Collaborate with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implement recommendations to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce costs.Provide guidance and oversight in the development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinating with outside contractors and vendors.Assist other teams (production, maintenance, tooling, etc.) and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of those teams.Track cost savings of implemented projects and efficiency improvements.Prepare and implement the capital budget.Perform annual performance evaluations of employees.Respond to customer complaints and implement corrective/preventive action.Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and Department of Health requirements.Perform all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsEngineering degree or equivalent experience required.5+ years of large-scale manufacturing experience required.Working knowledge of molding equipment preferred.Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.Prior experience in analyzing production and financial reports.Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.Additional Skills & QualificationsProven leadership abilitiesStrong analytical skillsEffective communication skillsOrganizational skillsWork Environment
You will be leading a team of 6 to 7 engineers who report directly to you. The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM. This opportunity provides ample growth potential within a Fortune 100 company.
