Job Description
A custom design and machine manufacturing company located in Westerville, OH is currently looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team. The company provides high-quality machinery to the food/dairy industry and specializes in packing/filling equipment.
ResponsibilitiesProvide direction and support to a team of twelve engineers and designers.Set team goals and provide technical and design leadership.Manage budgeting, scheduling, and employee training and development.Communicate effectively with Sales and Manufacturing departments.Develop department infrastructure and standards.Oversee the production of outstanding technical documentation.Report to the Operations Manager.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Experience in the design of industrial equipment such as conveyors, packaging equipment, or food processing machinery.Five or more years of management experience with an emphasis on employee development.Experience with automation controls using PLC’s, HMI’s, servos, VFD’s, as well as pneumatics.Experience with design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of high-speed machinery.Experience using 3D CAD and DFMA.Additional Skills & QualificationsIndustrial Food Processing Automation experience, dairy industry strongly preferred.Knowledge of sanitary design principles as well as common standards and codes (IEEE, ANSI, NSF, USDA).Experience managing third-party resources such as technical consultants and contractors.Work Environment
The position requires up to 5% travel. The company is employee-owned, promoting a collaborative and invested work culture.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $79.33/hr.
