Engineering Manager - Data Engineering
What you’ll be doing
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
· A minimum of 12+ years of s/w engineering or Data Engineering management experience
Overall Exp.
Experience in software development, managing the technical and collaboration challenges of integrating a broad set of dependencies.
Ability to understand and drive Scrum team (7-15 engineers) to working on technologies such as AWS cloud, Big Data, Pyspark, Scala, Python etc.
Experience on Spark framework/processing is must.
Experience on Kafka/realtime processing is plus.
Experience in relational/columnar or No-Sql databases is a plus, minimum of relational database experience is required.
Experience with DevSecOps, SAFE, Agile Development methodologies.
Experience with Data Operations is a plus.
Ability to develop conceptual frameworks and provide recommendations on best approach.
Ability to design complex cloud/distributed software applications, mentor and guide Leads and engineering staff
Experience with managing through metrics processes.
Critical thinking and ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
Ability to think strategically and creatively, while also managing tactical execution.
Excellent verbal communication skills, strong analytical and organisational skills.
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
Partner with product management/data infra/customer teams to build shared goals
