Transform at JLL with your leadership experience as an Engineering Manager on a technology client account! You will work as part of an engineering & facilities team at multi-million sq ft client portfolio with 3 data centers managed by JLL. This a is a client facing role that requires a well rounded engineering leader.

Schedule: onsite, Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: North Austin / Round Rock, TX

Reports to: Regional Facilities Manager

As an Engineering Manager at JLL, you will serve as the senior technical leader responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering operations across a complex, multi-site portfolio for a high-profile client. This role requires a seasoned leader with exceptional management, organizational, and communication skills to navigate a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

You will lead a large team of Senior Chiefs, engineers, technicians, and vendors, ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of all mission-critical infrastructure, including data center operations. This includes fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear), lighting and temperature controls systems, critical environments, and general building repairs.

Your primary objective will be to drive operational excellence, enhance system performance, optimize efficiencies, and uphold the highest industry standards while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

This role demands a highly analytical and data-driven mindset, as you will be required to collect, organize, and analyze technical and financial data to provide insights, strategic recommendations, and formal presentations to both internal leadership and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:Provide decisive leadership and strategic direction to a multi-site engineering team, ensuring alignment with client objectives and operational KPIs.Oversee the planning, organization, and prioritization of engineering operations across multiple high-demand locations, ensuring execution of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, work orders, and capital projects with a focus on efficiency and quality.Act as a key client liaison, effectively communicating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust in JLL’s service delivery.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in data center operations, ensuring uptime, reliability, and compliance with all critical environment best practices.Analyze and interpret operational data, creating reports, dashboards, and formal presentations to support business decisions, cost forecasting, and performance evaluations.Accountable for all hard services and critical infrastructure KPIs/SLAs, compliance measures, and engineering financial performance within the portfolio.Ensure the development, implementation, and enforcement of key engineering work task administration processes, including:Methods of Procedures (MOPs)Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs)Work permit approvals and safety compliance

Lead and drive the development, training, and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and incident response strategies.Ensure effective use of CMMS systems, maintaining accurate and complete asset maintenance records, vendor performance tracking, and invoicing.Champion continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for process enhancement, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.Manage and mentor a team of Senior Chiefs and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and technical excellence.Partner with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to secure best-in-class service delivery and cost-effective solutions.Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring financial accountability, cost forecasting, and adherence to client objectives.Identify and implement energy-efficient initiatives, sustainability programs, and technology-driven solutions to optimize performance and reduce costs.Ensure strict compliance with all EHS, local health and safety regulations, and client engineering standards.Handle emergency response situations and lead rapid troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime and mitigate operational risks.Regular travel to portfolio locations as needed to provide direct leadership, support, and oversight.

Required Skills and Qualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalentTen (10)+ years of progressive experience in engineering operations, maintenance, and critical environments, with a strong focus on data center operations.Five (5)+ years of relevant people management experience; especially as a Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer or similar rolesProven ability to lead and manage a large, multi-site portfolio with a high-volume workload.Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Exceptional leadership, team building, and personnel management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret operational data to drive decision-making and performance improvements.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with executives, clients, and internal stakeholders effectively.Deep expertise in critical systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems.Strong knowledge of building codes, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.Proficiency in CMMS systems and other engineering management software tools.Proven ability to manage budgets, financial targets, and cost forecasting.Flexibility to work off-hours and weekends when required for emergency response and planned initiatives.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

2 year college degree, Trade school education, or union training is desirableMilitary experience (e.g., Army Prime Power, Navy ET/Nuke, Air Force HVAC/Power Pro Electrician) is a plus.Three (3)+ years of proven work experience maintaining critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems (UPS, emergency generators, switchgears, & chiller plants) is a plus.Experience working in high stress and critical environments is desirableExperience with Corrigo and ServiceNow platforms.Professional Engineer (PE) certification and equivalent industry credentials.Experience working within a large corporate real estate or facilities management organization.Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).Strong financial acumen, with experience managing capital projects and large-scale maintenance budgets.Experience implementing technology-driven solutions and automation in engineering operations.
