Role IntroductionAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team based in Perth, Australia. In this role you will manage the engineering and ramp operational duty holder functions across allocated stations, ensuring delivery of a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports the Cathay brand and business.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Manage routine and non-routine maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft in accordance with all HKAR-145 and company requirementsManage routine and non-routine maintenance for third party customer aircraft (if applicable) in accordance with the appropriate national authority and customer requirementsWorking on a shift basis, take responsibility for the management of an engineering team to deliver operational excellenceDirectly supervise and certify aircraft maintenancePerform local or overseas operational relief duties when required by the CompanyManage and oversee third party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc.) as the Operational Duty HolderEnsure that Cathay and third party supplier’s labour (including the controlled third party mechanics) are trained, qualified and authorised on all aircraft types operating at the stationManage and execute contingency plans to support ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery etc.Manage the availability, serviceability and cleanliness of station ground equipment, vehicles and facilitiesCoordinate and support Cathay Quality Audit, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, third party audits, follow up audit findings and implement mitigations to prevent re-occurrenceManage station administration and ensure station documentations / passes are up-to-date and validBe accountable for compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards and regulations / guidelinesAny other reasonable task as requested including engaging in non-operational duties and projectsPeople Development, Performance Management and Manpower AccountabilitiesLead, support and encourage own team to achieve success Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamworkDemonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core valuesDevelop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development and execute succession plansEnsure that the necessary technical and management training is provided to enable employees to perform their allocated functions including providing local refresher training as requiredMaintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performanceActively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goalsEnhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promiseRequirementsAcademic QualificationsHKAR-66 B1 or B2 license, or any equivalent license acceptable in HKAR-2Minimum of 2 current aircraft type authorisations, preferably on the type operated by Cathay and level 3 trainedKnowledge, Skills, Training and ExperienceMinimum 10 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environmentMinimum 3 years practical experience working as a certifying Engineer or Engineering SupervisorDemonstrable operational knowledge of aircraft maintenance and ground handling activitiesWorking knowledge of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department airworthiness regulationsDemonstrable ability in management and understanding of business change processProven capability in cost control and budgetingBenefits
