Confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve efficiency and yields. Leads and develops the engineering team. Oversees a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Ensures process and tooling documentation, including, but not limited to, detailed work instructions, preventive maintenance plans, and in place and adhered to. A continuous improvement discipline is fostered such that product reliability, process yields and manufacturing costs constantly improving. Final versions of the equipment and/or processes developed are documented to the extent that another informed professional could reasonably understand, troubleshoot and modify the equipment/processes as needed. Development insights, information and experiences are constantly shared with other functions/activities to motivate technology innovation throughout the Advanced Materials business unit. Fosters technology transfer between engineering and manufacturing such that information flow is efficient and covers all aspects of manufacturing the process. 2) Overall Advanced Materials Group Support 25% Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis. Plans documentation system. Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones. Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures Works with R&D, manufacturing, operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development.
