We are seeking a driven Engineering Manager to supervise our manufacturing engineering team and oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. This role must be able to work out of our Auburn, AL facility, Monday through Friday.
Role Responsibilities:
Supervises engineers and technical teams to delivers operational results that have direct impact on the immediate or short-term results for the department and plant
Ensure highly collaborative relationships between corporate product management, manufacturing engineering, and operational teams.
Work with site leadership team to develop capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans
Lead engineering teams in executing fiscal CAPEX plans
Manage sites fixed asset inventory
Manages all manufacturing related projects to ensure milestones are achieved (cost & timelines)
Lead cost reduction and continuous Improvement programs (margin and cost optimization); areas such as: Focusing on semi-automation in a high mix/low volume manufacturing environment and/or utilizing lean principles to reduce waste in processes
Partner with operations team to develop and implement visual management tools that will improve communication, reduce downtime, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Partner with operations team to develop SOP’s and training documentation
Manage and support engineering team during execution of new product releases, engineering change processes, and APD processes (Accelerate Product Development)
Coordinates with other corporate technical support groups to keep updated on new developments and available technologies
Complies with all EHS and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures

Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field
5+ years of engineering experience
2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to influence people within all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with highly detailed information
Possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels
Project Management certification (CAPM or PMP)
Lean Certification preferred (Six Sigma Black Belt)
Oracle knowledge or similar ERP system
