Engineering Manager for Production Support

KeyBank is looking for a payment's technology leader and people manager. Someone who utilizes technical experience, business acumen, delivery, and leadership skills to lead a broad team in developing, implementing, and maintaining a domain of infrastructure platforms meeting the technology and operational objectives of the enterprise.

This leader will manage a moderate-to-large group of individual contributors consisting of project managers, scrum masters, business analysts, development engineers, support engineers and QA engineers.

Primary responsibilities for this manager will include leading engineering and development for payments platforms using various types of technologies and tools. Experience needed in the following: Cobol6, Mainframe TSO/MVS, DB2/ SPUFI/ SQL, JCL, ADFZ File Manager, TWS Scheduler.

Secondarily this role would benefit from management and experience for product and platforms using technologies and latest frameworks, such as React or Angular, NodeJS, Spring Boot, and Java. Our services are hosted in GCP using GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions are important but not critical.

This technology leader will also be an influencer to the LOB partners who the tech organization supports against enterprise-wide initiatives. This role requires providing the technical direction of development and support by following set standards for development, ensuring that the software is scalable, maintainable, and meets the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the management of 24/7 production support of applications including vulnerability remediation and risk management to corporate SLAs.Manage a team for development, DevOps, and Production Support – including on-call support for both onshore and offshore teams.Lead a team of software engineers building, developing, and supporting applications in production and lower environments. Setting a team standard on software design, development, code quality, maintainability, and testing.Collaborate with LOB, Product Managers, Operations teams, stakeholders to understand business requirements and lead a team to translate them into technical solutions.Manage multiple and/or complex vendor relationship(s) including partnership negotiations, development, support and maintenance.Guide teams toward Agile methodologies for cadences, and practices including Poker Planning, Iteration Planning, Daily Scrum, Iteration Review, and Retrospectives.

Expected Background:

You have extensive experience scaling & working with banking, payments, Fintech, Merchant and healthcare systems at an enterprise level.Experience as a DevOps Manager, Engineering Manager or QA Manager with deep knowledge and practice of maintain lower and upper environments, release scheduling, and coordinating between development and production support teams deploying to all environments.Long history working successfully with both Waterfall and Agile development and support environments. Able to give direction to Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysis, Engineers and Quality Assurance teams on performance and project processes.You have experience working setting team guidance on projects with high code coverage and good documentation, especially self-documenting code.You have experience with managing many vendors, third party software, vendor integrations and third party APIs.You are passionate about designing & developing high-throughput, high performance, and responsive platforms supported by both front-end and backend technology with highly visible SLAs reporting to senior management.

Qualifications:

12+ years of software engineering experience or similar project experience8+ years of experience working in large highly regulated organizations, such as finance or healthcareExperience leading teams in developing complex enterprise software. This includes automated build, automated system, integration, & unit tests.Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related work experience; Master’s degree preferred

Tools & Technologies:

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $140,000.00 to $150,000.00/hr annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
