Our Managed Tables solution is key to this mission. Managed Tables deliver Data Intelligence capabilities to our users; thye provide (a) best out-of-box performance with automatic maintenance and optimizations on tables via Predictive Optimization (b) hassle free data-layout through Liquid Clustering and (c ) easy path to adopt ManagedTables by supporting a wide spectrum of interoperability with legacy and external clients.
We are seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to drive the innovation and adoption of ManagedTables. In this role, you will lead a high-performing engineering team, drive strategic initiatives, and collaborate with product and technical stakeholders to deliver turnkey solutions to our customers.

Hire great engineers to build an outstanding team. Drive strategic vision for the team and product. Ensure high technical standards by instituting processes (architecture reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence). Mentor and coach engineers to help them carve out a fulfilling career. Deliver infrastructure and product to make our customers' lives better, and to support Databricks' record-breaking growth. Evangelize and uphold our cultural principles: be customer obsessed, be truth seeking, demonstrate bias for action to name a few. Work with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap. Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects.What we look for:
BS or higher in Computer Science, or a related field At least two years of experience building and leading highly complex, technical engineering teams. Motivated by delivering customer value and impact. Ability to attract, hire, and coach world-class engineers. Experience with distributed systems, databases, compilers, performance optimisation or big data systems (Spark, Hadoop) Experience managing an ML platform, SaaS, or data focused product. Comfortable working cross functionality with product management and directly with customers; ability to deeply understand product and customer personas.
Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
