Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re interested in engineering leadership, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and improving an engineering organization which designs, develops, validates, improves and/or supports products, systems or applications. The incumbent will report to the Director of Engineering and is relied upon to provide technical expertise in guiding design efforts, customer interactions, and other engineering related matters such as quality problem solving.

The selected candidate for this position will lead one of two engineering teams: New Product Introduction (NPI) or Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE). Both teams will utilize the same leadership skills, engineering tools, and practices, but will focus on different types of programs. A candidate's passion and interests will be the primary factor in deciding which department they will lead!

What You Will Be Doing 

Responsible for creating, maintaining and improving design standards that result in high quality and compliant productsImplements and supports continuous improvement initiatives in his or her group to improve product development velocity and cost efficiencyMaintains and improves a highly effective and well skilled staff to carry out actions to complete planned objectives, including utilizing the talent management system, completing review process and salary planning, maintaining and executing a training matrix, and supporting staffing of the group to meet business demands and objectivesDevelops budget to support profit planning activities and manages within the approved budget constraintsDevelop and maintain engineering processes and procedures to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

What We Are Looking For 

US – bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field5+ years of Engineering experience in an identical or closely related field requiredGood people, time management, and project management skillsSolid communication and presentation skillsDemonstrates expertise and commitment to Design for Six Sigma practices, lean product development and waste eliminationStrong technical toolbox (trade-studies, brainstorming, design evaluation matrices, risk management, CAD systems, CAE systems, test methods, configuration management, ECR management, DFMEA, GD&T, or other appropriate design and analysis tools)Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to perform beyond their comfort zone
