Engineering Manager - Plant Systems and Performance (Remote Eligible, U.S)

The Plant Systems and Performance Engineering Manager will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists responsible for the development of new plant engineering proposals, early works agreements and new product developments. In this position the Plant Engineering Manager will drive timely decision making of technical issues related to the application of GEH new plant technology on different opportunities. You will lead the team responsible proposal technical write-ups, engineering estimates, schedule development and technical risk assessments for new plant opportunities. In this role you will coordinate, expedite, and close open issues/concern with other engineering and product leaders. You will be responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of early works projects and new product developments. Additional responsibilities will be to partner with and drive interfaces with external engineering technical teams while supporting proposal and/or early works projects. **Job Description** **Essential Responsibilities:** As the Plant Systems and Performance Engineering Manager, you will: + Report solid line to the Senior Manager, Plant Systems. + You will drive work across engineering teams to assure that proposals and early works packages are aligned with our standard offering. You will ensure the team identifies any technical departures and then work with other engineering teams to provide costs, cycle times and risks for the planned offering. + Responsible for supporting proposal and early works performance guarantees, estimates, schedules, and risk register associated with each opportunity. + You will establish and maintain effective interdisciplinary detailed design interfaces and document these in deliverables that become part of proposals and/or contracts. + You will resolve inter-disciplinary issues, plan/support independent design reviews and provide oversight of plant security issues, e.g., Safeguards Information classification, Sensitive Unclassified Nuclear Safeguards Information (SUNSI) classification and associated Cyber Security issues. + Ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth. + Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project and program managers and other stakeholders. + Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues. + Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical project issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business project management, partners, subcontractors, and customers. + Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines. + Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables. + Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions. + Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities. + Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH. + Support GEVH initiatives, process improvement and simplification. + Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance. + Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GEVH. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline. + At least 12 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience. + At least 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry. **Eligibility Requirements:** + **Preferred work location is at GE Hitachi Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington NC, but highly qualified remote (US Based) candidates will be considered.** + **This role is restricted to U.S. persons** (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) **due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. The base pay range for this position is $128 - 202k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 3/17/2025. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
