Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada is seeking a dynamic Engineering Senior Project Leader to join our team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Engineering - Cheese Plants, and be responsible for planning, estimating, and executing capital projects across our Canadian division plants.

We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills and a passion for excellence. This position offers the opportunity to travel across Canada (30-50% of the time), providing a chance to make a significant impact on our operations nationwide.

****Salary ranges from $76 265 to $100 100*** offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.****

How you will make contributions that matter:

Plan, manage and support the various CapEx projects for Canadian plants, process installation projects, packaging, building and utilities.Establish preliminary concepts for equipment layout and present them to plants and related departments;Actively participate in the development and maintenance of installation standards;Coordinate and supervise the execution of projects, including monitoring the various subcontractors and make yourself available during the work (perhaps outside regular working hours);Collaborate with the buyer in the engineering department, define equipment specifications and purchase offers, make their selection and group purchases in order to optimize costs;Prepare budget estimates in close collaboration with other departments (operations, maintenance);Ensure rigorous management of the allocated budget and communicate progress on a regular basis;Establish, monitor and respect project schedules, communicate to the project team the progress, problems encountered and solutions proposed.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent training;Member of a professional engineering association in a Canadian province is an asset5-10 years of relevant experience, experience in agri-food is an asset;Knowledge of automation and controls is an asset;Knowledge of AutoCAD software, the Office suite including MS Project;Excellent interpersonal skills and a field approach;Demonstrates a high degree of autonomy, ability to prioritize and manage emergencies;Communicates in English (both orally and in writing)Have a car and a valid driver's license;Be a team player and have an appetite for big challenges;Willingness to travel across Canada (30-50%).
