Job Description

We are seeking an engineering/aftermarket service administrator, coordinator, or assistant project manager to provide industry-leading service for large industrial motors, generators, and turbines to our customers worldwide. This role involves engineering support for engineered services, including customer interfacing for business development, quotations, scheduling, and financial control. You will support both internal and external customers, as well as partners, to maintain good financial outcomes for the company.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize SAP (ERP system) for custom engineering projects.Resolve service or invoicing inquiries over the phone and email.Effectively promote strong customer relationships.Interface directly with customers to develop new business, gather job scope information, create quotations, and schedule services for field technicians, project managers, engineers, and designers.Create and transmit work packages for service teams that include the scheduled dates and scope of work, and effectively communicate the customer’s criteria for success.Interface with the factory on project deadlines and milestones.Ask for and review daily field service updates and final field service reports, and transmit them to the customer.Drive a lean culture within the service organization, streamlining processes and continuously improving the service workflow.Administer field service jobs, including creating cost breakdowns for service jobs, monitoring open field service jobs, and initiating the invoicing process by creating orders in SAP.Audit and confirm external service providers’ timesheets and third-party cost breakdowns.Create purchase requisitions for external service providers and submit them for approval after cost breakdowns have been audited.Use data analytics to monitor service quoting and invoicing activities, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement to management.Resolve invoice disputes with customers and/or finance as needed.Answer aftermarket emergency calls once a month.Essential SkillsBS or Associate's Degree in business, industrial technology, or a related field.2+ years of recent engineering support experience or project coordination in a relevant field (energy, engineering, telecommunications, manufacturing).Ability to communicate and interface with shop personnel and technical staff.Demonstrated sense of urgency to provide timely responses and resolutions to customer requests.Ability to keep multiple tasks and activities coordinated, prioritized, documented, and in progress simultaneously.Capacity for social interface with internal and external customers, achieving customer satisfaction excellence.Effectively deal with difficult customers through oral and written communication.Computer literate with knowledge of current operating systems and software common to business applications, including SAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read SolidWorks drawings is a plus but not required.Computer proficiency and willingness to learn customer SOPs and systems.Work Environment

The position is based in a nice office in Northeast Minneapolis within a service/aftermarket team of fewer than ten people. This is a tight-knit and diverse group. The role requires the person to work onsite most of the time, typically five days a week, with some flexibility for personal appointments, inclement weather, etc. The company is a large custom manufacturer of motors and generators for the energy industry, experiencing significant growth with a current six-month backlog of orders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00
