Engineering Services Buyer
Job Title: Supply Chain Buyer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Buyer to lead the purchasing of Engineering Services for our North American operations. This critical role will focus on strategically managing suppliers of various specialized engineering firms, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of services that support the development of cutting-edge automotive technologies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost reductions.

ResponsibilitiesStrategically manage suppliers of specialized engineering firms.Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of services.Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.Drive cost reductions and improve contract terms.Support the development of negotiation strategies for large and complex projects.Evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making.Present clear recommendations to peers, suppliers, and executive leadership.Lead and mentor teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Liaise with cross-departmental stakeholders to support project goals.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in supply chain management with a focus on purchasing engineering services.Well-developed negotiation skills in the Engineering Services category.Proficient in managing multiple concurrent projects and contracts.Ability to navigate competing priorities and resource constraints.Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in developing negotiation strategies.Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental and stakeholder liaison.Ability to evaluate and analyze data for operational decision-making.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.Highly organized self-starter with a customer service-oriented attitude.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in indirect purchasing is preferred, but direct purchasing experience will also be considered.Ability to build network relationships with global cross-functional teams.Approachable personality with the ability to manage time well and work with diverse groups of people.Good storyteller, able to walk through issues with clear solutions.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
