Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Operations, the Engineering Operations Intern provides business analytics and reporting to the Engineering department. Identifies and develops department metrics by working with users and stakeholders to understand data visualization and reporting requirements. Translates business results into meaningful metrics and recommendations aimed at improving performance, through the e3 Continuous Improvement program. Analyzes business processes and problems to formulate and develop recommendations to meet customer and/or internal project requirements.
Job Essential Functions:
+ Support process improvement initiatives for the Engineering department
+ Support Engineering department metrics for Internal Research and Development (IRAD), bids and proposals, manpower, engineering performance, etc.
+ Support special projects and initiatives for the Engineering department.
+ Support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities for Engineering department
Qualifications:
+ Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree (engineering or business)
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
+ Excellent written, oral, and team communication skills.
+ Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment.
+ Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Experience with information systems / database visualization (e.g. SQL, Power BI, and/or Tableau).
