Engineering Services Manager
**Purpose and Scope:** Manage and lead a department of Design and Systems Maintenance Engineers in the fast paced Aerospace services industry at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Engineering Manager serves a critical role in executing and supporting mission requirements by supporting propellants, cryogenics and life support operations, maintenance, and engineering for assigned systems and equipment (S&E) for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and other launch providers. Support is provided to KSC, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB), other Government locations, and Commercial locations. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Supports Project Management activities in development and maintenance of a structured, risk based prioritization process for assessing major maintenance, replacement or acquisition of S&E to include, managing the scope, cost, and schedule. + Manages successful completion of IDIQ project work from project formulation through project implementation. + Responsible for all aspects of development and maintenance of configuration control of aerospace assets and systems. + Oversees and manages the Fluids Management and Engineering group which provides the near-term scheduling of propellant orders as well as tracking of usage by individual customers. Fluids Management and Engineering also provides the long-term forecasting of propellants and plant for propellants and life support equipment. + The Engineering Manager leads the Design Engineering (DE) group which provides engineering services for Systems and Equipment that optimizes availability and price for customers. The DE group designs, as needed, new propellant and life support systems and equipment and provides designs for modifications to existing S&E. + The Engineer Manager oversees the S&E Operation and Maintenance Engineering Team which provides field engineering services and support of critical assets that directly support flight and payload customers. + Supervises the preparation of engineering documents, studies, drawings and calculations. Develops and communicates department’s engineering policies and standards, ensuring the program standards support the government and commercial customer needs. + Directs personnel activities of department, such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from a four year accredited college or university and at least 8 years of job-related experience; or equivalent with at least 2 years in a management/supervisor capacity. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software and application programs with advance proficiency in project management software. Strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all engineering areas. Position requires minimal travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). US citizenship is required for restricted area access. **Preferred Qualifications:** Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP). **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
