As an Engineering Specialist - Controls, you will lead problem-solving to assist plants and implementation teams resolve tooling, equipment, and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
What you'll do...
+ Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage, and break down problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods
+ Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers
+ Utilize sound knowledge, design, and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different types of vision cameras and their programming software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
+ Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review, and follow up project installations
+ Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
+ Update program backups for machinery and automation
+ Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
+ As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
+ Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
+ Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, AutoCAD
+ Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks
+ Manage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images, and installation of communication and firmware and controls software
+ Work overtime and weekends as needed
You'll have...
+ High school diploma or GED Required
+ 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience
+ Internship and Co-op experience will be considered
Even better, you may have...
+ Bachelors Degree
+ Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
+ Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots
+ Solid understanding of laser burning
+ Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCAD
+ Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
+ Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry
+ Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO
+ Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
+ Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
+ Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
+ Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
+ One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
+ Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred
