Overview JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort employee and part of the Benchmark company family you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at in all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. We aim to hire individuals who are ready and committed to exceed the expectation of every guest by genuinely creating lasting memories, maintaining a positive attitude and by providing outstanding service every time. The Engineering Supervisor will assist the Assistant Chief Engineer and the Chief Engineer in overseeing the staff, making sure that the guests’ maintenance needs or other requests, are being solved. Responsibilities also include performing various work order tasks and maintaining preventive maintenance system for equipment. BASIC FUNCTION: To help maintain the property operations as well as supervising and training staff on policies and procedure. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in a similar job in the hospitality industry. Previous supervisor experience preferred. Certified pool operator preferred. Ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing blueprints. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams. Ability to properly use a multimeter. Qualifications ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists in training and supervising Engineering staff in accordance with Property Operations and the property’s policies and procedures. Resolves guest’s problems and handles all guest requests. Identifies problems, initiates work orders, accomplished assigned work orders and does all necessary repairs. Performs preventative and general maintenance (i.e., changing filters, equipment and facility inspections) and maintains logs in an organized manner. Complete the duty rounds checklists and correct any problems noted. Responsible for correct use of the office equipment and computer programs, the EMS system and the Life Safety Systems (training provided). Perform swimming pool chemical tests and make necessary corrections, with training. As part of the Property Operations team, assistance may be needed with general duties of the Grounds team including, landscaping, seasonal outdoor decorations, trash and/or snow and ice removal, and other projects. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours. ENVIRONMENT: Works in all areas of the property, both indoors and outdoors possible in inclement weather. Must be able to work at various heights on ladders, roofs, etc.
