Engineering Tech OMS
Description Duties and Responsibilities + Assists the Manufacturing Engineer with developing, managing, and implementing projects as needed. + Assists and directs others on the team to meet project specifications. + Read and interpret customer blueprints for new and existing products. + 3D modeling in SolidWorks system. + Builds and assembles fixtures and other plant related items. + Determines methods and sequences of building fixtures. + Designs and creates jigs, fixtures, and holding devices. + Assists engineers in maintaining tool crib. + Maintains engineering/fixture building area, including but is not limited to cleaning, PM equipment, and keeping the area organized. + Ensures fixtures function appropriately per design/prints. + Trains production on how to use and install fixtures. + Inspects fixtures for accuracy with the help of the quality department. + Assists with other projects assigned from manufacturing engineers or management team. + Assists in the analysis of space requirements, preparation of layouts for new equipment and projects, and evaluation of flow of materials to improve operating efficiency and reduction of errors. + Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of the position. + Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, handle special projects, perform clerical tasks, and assist in other departments including Quality Assurance and Production. Skills and Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree preferred. + Five years of manufacturing experience required. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. + Welding certification preferred. + 1 - 3 years of fixture building experience preferred. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Proficient with SolidWorks software. + Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook). + Strong math and problem-solving skills with the use of geometry and trigonometry. + Able to read and use common measuring devices. + Able to read and understand prints and drawings. + Able to work in a high-paced, manufacturing environment. + Strong communication skills. + Speak conversational English. Physical Requirements + Ability to lift up to 50lbs + Ability to bend, stand, twist, and stoop. + Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision. Subject to environmental conditions that occur within a fabrication shop condition including exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and vibration from use of equipment and the following: + Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. + Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin-fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. + Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
